Giuseppe Conciauro is a Professor Emeritus of the University of Pavia. He has been a Full Professor of Electromagnetic Fields at the University of Pavia, Department of Electronics, since 1980.

Most of his scientific activity has concerned Microwave Theory and Techniques. His main contributions have been given in the areas of measurements, of interaction structures for particle accelerators and, more recently, in the area of numerical methods for the electromagnetic modeling of passive devices.

Giuseppe Conciauro has published about 150 scientific papers, most of which appeared on qualified international journals and proceedings of important international conferences. He is coauthor of the book “Advanced Modal Analysis”, J. Wiley & Sons, 2000, and of the textbook “Fondamenti di Onde Elettromagnetiche”, McGraw-Hill, Italia, 2003. Also he is the author of the textbook “Introduzione alle Onde Elettromagnetiche”, McGraw-Hill, Italia, 1993, widely used in Italian Universities.

For two consecutive three-year periods (1985-1991) he served as Director of the Department of Electronics of the University of Pavia and, for many years, he has chaired the Board of Professors of the graduation course in Electronic Engineering. For many years he has directed the PhD School in Sciences of Engineering of the University of Pavia, where he also coordinated the PhD School in Electronics, Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering.

Giuseppe Conciauro created the Microwave Laboratory of the Department of Electronics and the research group working in that laboratory. As the head of this group, he has been responsible of many research projects, financed by the Italian Governement, by the EU and by important research centers and industries.

He is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer Aided Engineering and of the Reviewer’s Boards of the IEEE Transaction on Microwave Theory and Techniques, of the IEEE Transaction on Antennas and Propagation, of the IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters.

Giuseppe Conciauro is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
